What’s your plans this weekend?

We are staying down at the Crystal Palace campsite in London at the moment, we are then going to move onto Windsor over the weekend and then maybe Brighton, depending on weather, been overcast today down here. We are expecting our third grandchild later this month so need to be handy if we get the call that she is on its way.

Congrats on the birth to come we’re in a similar situation in a few months time dave
youve been getting about of late and some cracking spots
see the show is on in brum end February again

We try, we stayed overnight at that Toby near Birmingham on the way down, great food, we then stayed in Welwyn Garden City to visit family, they took us to a Toby carvery near them, it was shite in comparison. Not sure when we will escape again, the wife has to see her consultant again in February, this will be her 6 month appointment after having injections in her hips and groin, apparently you have to wait 6 months before having repeat injections, the wife seemed to be ok for a few months but then was suffering again, the consultant said to try them rather than go for replacement hips, so depending on which route he wants to go down will depend on when we will get away, she wants to do Germany, Austria and Switzerland and other destinations so hopefully set off late February beginning of March if she decides to try the injection route again.

I might have to think about getting a newer model the way she is going, (Wife not motorhome) she is struggling to throw her leg over the scooter now. Take care and have a great year.

Yes that was the Toby we stopped, traffic from the nearby motorway network was noisy, but the food was excellent, I even went in the morning to have the all you can eat breakfast, excellent value for money.

B4 I got my hips done it was a bu- - er to get a leg over😡😜

She is into her horses, but hasn't been able to ride for a while, luckily the daughter and grand daughter ride them, but the consultant doesn't think she could ride again if she had her hips replaced, as it could pop them out, were as when she had the injections she could ride again for a couple of months. So it's a difficult choice for her as she has had horses now for near on 50 years.

My son and daughter in law have five horses and she’d be lost without them ,I’d be happy with the money they spend with the vet!

Our last vets bill was over £5000 for a horse she had for 20 years, it got cancer and the bill was for investigate work to come to a conclusion, it was incurable so the horse had to be put down reluctantly, we were fortunate has we have them insured against vet bills, just had an excess to pay and the costs of the stables at the animal hospital it was at for a week as they do not cover stabling and feed costs. Thought we was coming to the end of them but now with my daughter and granddaughter involved don't think I will ever be free of them, at least we can go away as my daughter can look after them.

What's that site like, is it far from Selhurst park?

Just looked in Google maps, Selhurst Park is 2.4 miles away from the site, two people and a motorhome costs £23.80 a night including electric and Awning if you are a member, otherwise they add on another £12.00 per night pitch fee.

The pitches are on various levels because of the hill you drive down, but they all seem to be flat on hard standing, so you don't need levellers, shower and toilet block is nice and clean.

You can get the number 3 bus from the main Rd, 5 min walk direct to Horseguards Parade in London for £1.50 each way. It's very quiet apart from now and again you hear planes in the sky, good TV reception and phone signals, there is WiFi on site but you have to pay extra for that. The wardens seem to be nice and helpful and are willing to share information with you. The caravan and motorhome club lease the site and it was due for closure last year for development, but the developer has given them another 12 month lease to later this year now, might even extend it again. You can walk to the main high street of crystal palace in 10 minutes and there are a good choice of restaurants and pubs.

Not sure whether t o head north or south yet last minute decision on weather report

Having a trip to the Stafford County Showground for the Dolls House Fair sunday and giving the wife a " virtual " blank cheque for her birthday o_O
