After installing one myself in my 1990 bedouin I know how hard it is to follow the instructions for start up so I have written tese out - taken from You Tube video (first time install on Chinese heater LCD monitor) Hope they help anyone in similar position. I am well pleased with mine so any questions please ask.

So pleased you have done this. I am just in the process of fitting one in place of our propex 1600, which packed in at the Northern New Year meet. I think a magnifying glass should have been provided as well to read the instructions.

I am in the 3rd year with mine and never looked back , I would even be so brave to say it is the best accessory we have ever had installed on our van . Enjoy yours , we certainly do ;):D

Have you connected yours to the van fuel or on its own tank?

Fitted its own tank as mine was petrol. But if using van fuel then it has a connector for that job. But NOT a T pieceto connect into the fuel line you would need one.
Word of note: if you DO want to Tee into the fuel line from the tank it is important that that fuel line is unpressurized. Most will not be suitable and you would need to fit a proper standpipe into the top of the tank to get the feed.
Some people directly drill into the tank and push a tube in but that is not a good idea TBH.

This was one of the reasons I went for a separate tank , and the other reason was I can now use red diesel in the seperate tank

28 sec heating oil 47p ltr.
more than that now - and even then only when you buy in bulk (I paid ~50p+VAT per litre a few days ago and that was for 800 litres)

(maybe it is subsidised in NI?)

My problem is where to put a seperate tank.

We can only buy in 600 or 900 ltrs at 47p ,but petrol stations here sell at pumps.it will burn cleaner than 35 sec derv requiring less servicing,you can also add some redex diesel cleaner if using 35 sec oil. ;)

I add redex to my van tank every four or five refills Trev so my heater gets a clean. The amount of fuel these use the cost difference isn’t an issue I don’t think. Obviously it’s good to fuel at around a third of the price but then it’s an extra fuel and where to site the tank, I already do that for the genny.

For anyone who does want a separate tank though I don’t see why it can be mounted outside. On a bike rack or even a 5litre fuel can maybe. Just fit a fuel tap in line

As above. If someone is full-timing in their van or using extensively in the winter, then there will be a visible cost advantage to using cheaper fuel, but for the typical motorhomer, even once fitted, the hassle of sourcing the different fuel and filling a separate tank outweighs the saving I would say (I can't recall the exact number, but I measured the fuel use of my heater at around 1/8th a litre an hour I think it was).
I do run my heater off a separate tank in my own van but that is because:
1) it was much easier to do than drop the tank to fit a standpipe;
2) I have easy access to Heating Oil;
I also can monitor the fuel use so I don't have to check the tank physically to know when it needs refilling. On other heater installations I have just tee'd into the fuel line that was used for engine pre-heaters as that is dead simple to do (if the vehicle OEM plumbing allows it!)

If I ever fit an additional air or combined air and water heater I may go for a separate removable tank despite my previous post. This would purely be for emergency or long park ups. I think mine goes to around an 1/8th of a tank before it doesn’t work. Sod’s law dictates it stops when most inconvenient so a separate system would give extra time. I do carry a 5ltr diesel can as well as same size for petrol although stupidly the diesel one is normally empty lol

Am i okay to install the tank inside or does it have to be external.

In emergency if you know where the standpipe is in the tank if at front put a brick under rear wheel to run diesel to front or the other way if at rear. Mind you risk using too much diesel for engine. If full timing better to carry 2 x 5 litres tanks for emergency.

Been and had a word with my friendly spanner this afternoon and he says he will put it straight into the van tank for me.
