hi folks first crossing i’ve managed to get is sunday morning 8:30 so got to be there by 7 can you overnight at port or do you have to wait till overnight ferry gone about 11

We do the same as Lee. Hermanville has plenty of space and is just a short drive away.

We havevparked in port but is quite noisy always scooters n mopeds etc buzzing about on the outer road but other than that never had any hassle
hermanville is quieter we found but was a few years back

Not sure if Hermanville has hook up points..
Or ice packs for sale in the nearby shops..
Load up before you arrive.
Be happy

think most of food already gone off or been eaten paul we’re on the aire at Nozay 30km above nantes within a ml of motorway been stopping here for 12years used to be free with electric now €8 but well worth while banks of a lake with water sports etc super u round corner , 2.5 hrs to caen big shop stop hermanville up at 6 on ferry for 8:30 home by 5

We used Colleville-Montgommery last month - a little closer to the port. Pitches are separated by hedges though a little narrow. Very quiet, no charge when we stayed, a short walk for croissants 🥐

I would also add that we have used the main aire at Ouistreham several times over the years - a short walk to the town. Port is on other side of fence. Last time we stayed we discovered that the aire was well lit up at night......... by a police helicopter searchlight looking for migrants. 😳. Never had any issues at Colleville-Montgommery or Hermanville.

in the end we reached caen by lunchtime did all the shopping went to the ferry port and arranged to go over on the evening ferry home by lunchtime sunday
