It's been a year since we've been using a temporary bit of wood to lock the door from inside so I thought I'd better do something about it. Fitting the lock into the frame I had to cut some space to turn it.

So left with ugly cuts and exposed cables I drew and 3d printed this:

To fit the hole like this:

Looks neater :)

Also, we can now lock and unlock inside and outside independently which is useful when she takes boy to bed and I'm still sat around the fire drinking lol.

Good job. Your own 3D printer? If so, let’s have a look at it and details etc.

It's an Ender 3 and seems pretty well made, and works easy enough. Less than 160 quid.

The filament is 20 quid, and will print a lot of stuff.

We're drawing with Autodesk inventor pro 2020, which Tommy got to install on 2 devices for free just because he's a student - and I think that covers just about anyone in education, he's only 12.

Then using Creality slicer to convert to files the printer understands.

There are loads of items you can download and pri t from sites such as https://www.thingiverse.com

Ooh, please delete my asking - now I want one!

I wonder if I can afford one to print Titanium?
