Sorry but as I have already posted on wildcamping.co.uk there is a LPG filling station at Stornaway it’s called Campbell’s and we used it in March to fill up.

The food is expensive in the supermarkets and so are the very few restaurants so take plenty of food with you. Even though most of the roads are single track they are in good condition with lots of passing places which have a tall sign so you can see them clearly. Remember the rules about pulling over and letting the locals pass.

We had a great time and wild camped for two weeks with only using a site once. The best way of describing the place is that it is like going back in time, beautiful beaches, friendly people and lots of wild camping POI’s to explore from wildcamping.co.uk. The only downside is obviously the weather, its windy and the wind when we went in March was cold, take some wind breakers with you so you can sit outside.

Definitely use wild camping POIs there are some brilliant spots, 3rd photo is the view from one we stayed at on Lewis last year, its a little peninsula with brilliant golden beach to the right and gorgeous rocky shore to the left. We only used campsites 4 nights in 3 weeks. Just love Lewis, brilliant golf course, brilliant people and a lot more happening than you think, Lewis has lots of cultural events.

Stay longer than planned ... it’s stunning and you want to have time to chill, walk and take in those big changing visas.
Shopping we did not find to be a problem as most reasonable sized villages had a general store, but you do need to take more unusual spices and herbs etc.
All shops, fuel stations ... everything really shuts on Sunday. Even some of the playgrounds have signs asking you to respect the Sabbath.
Eat lots of Stornoway black pudding ... it is simply the best.
Harris gin ?
According to LPG.eu, another station on Sandwick Road in Stornoway.
Carry a reasonable amount of cash with you.
Listen to or read the Peter May the Blackhouse trilogy ... great descriptions and you understand how hard living there can be. A great story too.

Can you tell that we loved it?
