** UPDATE ON ROAD WORKS **
PLease be aware that the road is closed when you turn off the A6 and go under the motorway bridge , follow the diversion sign to the left, Langley Lane. Go past a Vets clinic on right.
Turn right onto Goosnargh Lane, signed Goosnargh. Follow to end. Turn right at The Grapes Pub. Follow to end. Turn left, then immediatly right just after the Stags head pub through the two stone pillers down to the end of the road keep left into the campsite . Camp site at end.
This camp is for for 5 nights, most of the pitches are on HARDSTANDING , The venue is less than 10 minutes off the M6 motorway
There are also 20 EHU points, these are only 6 AMP so only kettles, fridges, charging, NOT HEATING, these are only £3 per night so please remember this if you try to overload it and it keeps tripping, also if you want this option let me know when booking, these come on a first come first served basis
There is a large clubhouse on-site with snooker and pool tables also a tv room and the bar is open every night and lunchtime at the weekend, the bar also serves food and real ale as well as a very large selection of beverages
Dogs on leads are welcome on the entire site including the clubhouse, ALL dog mess must be cleaned up
On-site for our use is also a full crown green bowling pitch, this is only £2 per person should you wish to have a game
There is access to Toilets, showers, freshwater, washing up point, rubbish disposal and Elsan point
Here is a link to the club site. http://www.whittinghamclub.com/
The price is £11 per unit per night, this is based on 40 + vans attending. Please put your payment in a sealed envelope with your forum name and how many nights you are attending, this will be collected on arrival
Local amenities
Only a 5-minute walk from the club you can find a Post Office, grocery shop, fish and chip shop, hairdresser and traditional sweet shop. You can also find Goosnargh Tennis Club and the beautiful medieval church of St Mary's, dating from approximately 1281. They're also a wide range of excellent restaurants and pubs serving fine food in the immediate area, including the local specialities of Goosnargh duck, Goosnargh cakes, and famous local cheeses from Mrs Kirkham's, Blacksticks and Singletons. The famously haunted Chingle Hall is but a half-mile stroll across the fields.
Further afield (3 miles) is the delightful market town of Longridge – the gateway to the Ribble Valley, Clitheroe and beyond. Sainsbury’s, Booths and The Co-operative supermarkets can all be found in Longridge along with a host of specialist shops and a full range of takeaways, many of which will deliver to the site.
Exploring the area
The new City of Preston (7 miles) offers extensive shopping opportunities whilst Garstang (6 miles) is another “must-see” market town. Beacon Fell Country Park along with the Bleasdale Fells, form the backdrop to our village. This is a proper walking country easily reached (3 miles) by an extensive network of country lanes. Brock Bottoms (2 miles), on the way to Beacon Fell, offers leafy glades, cool clear pools and the gentle River Brock. This is a magic place where children can safely paddle, whilst your dog can swim in the deeper pools - an ideal picnic spot!
The Club is an ideal base for visiting local attractions such as the Roman camp at Ribchester, the ruins of the 14th Century Cistercian Abbey at Whalley and the famous Trough of Bowland whose lovely winding paths are popular with fell walkers and casual strollers alike.
If you would like to attend this venue please ask on this thread only stating your arrival day and how many nights you will be attending
