All the above posts give good ideas..
Just which one suits you and your pocket.
Also check details of their breakdown options and European cover (time ? now only)
We use Comfort and had no problem with 2 breakdown fixes last summer (One a puncture 2nd a faulty "extra Engine management item")

Well, I have tried a lot of insurance companies over the years and for my 'Millie' I use Scenic (https://www.scenicinsurance.co.uk/), they are part of the Swinton Group and are specialist brokers only offering cover for motorhomes and camper vans.

The thing that I like about them is that all the people I have ever spoken to know about motorhomes and seem to understand them with something that I find to be almost unique................. they exhibit interest! Oh and their prices are good.

NFU and LV do it apparently, who I intend to get quotes from as well as AIB through here who quoted me happy last year.
Any experience of the former two would be interesting?

I insure my house and a few other things with the NFU and find them to be brilliant, however when it comes to motor or motorhome insurance I have found that they can't come within a country mile, price wise, with Scenic Insurance who come up trumps with my policy every year.

I too have been happy with Scenic for the last couple of years.

Who underwrites their cover?
I have become a bit wary of highway covers but now I think they are part of LV probably not do these days, from my historical knowledge when I considered them a rather dubious Lloyd’s outfit.

I think Scenic use a variety of underwriters, mine is Markerstudy who I think AIB also sometimes use.

I had a very bad experience with C &MC, who use Devitts. I’d stay well clear of them.

I got a quote from CMC and it was with Highway.

Camc will beat any quotes by £25.
I think they will beat renewal quotes by £25 not any quote.

We use AIB, always found competitive, but worth ringing around. Always check the details to make sure comparing like for like.

What security devices required ? eg tracker ?
Annual mileage allowance.
Days in europe.
Windscreen cover.
Excess.
Personal effects.
Storage.

We use Safeguard. One of the few companies that offer 12 months European travel and offer 12 months AA Europe wide breakdown too.

Another vote for Safeguard here. Had to claim for approximately 6 grands worth of damage, (self inflicted) about 5 years ago and the process of repairs was fantastic and all went as smoothly as possible. After that our premiums remained more or less the same when we had expected them to rocket. The European breakdown cover is also important to us though luckily we have not had cause to use it!!
