What have you got planned to do to your Campervan or Motorhome this year in readiness for your "Release back to the Wild" post Lockdown?

I'm waiting for the weather to improve as no need to rush it, but before Easter (start of April this year) I have two key tasks (plus a bonus one) to do....

1) Install my PV Array on the roof ☀️☀️☀️
2) Install the rear Air Suspension and get a GVW Upgrade plate sorted out. 🏋️‍♂️ 🏋️‍♂️🏋️‍♂️

Bonus task is installing the on-board Tiki Bar 🍹🍸🍷

What will your pv array be. And what benefits

Not massive - 270W, made up of 3 x 90W Victron Mono Panels. Chosen those as in a set of 3 they make the most of the available space at the back. Already got the controller installed - a Victron 100/20 Smartsolar, which is spec'ed at 290W, so a good match there. Almost definately install in parallel rather than series as I prefer to protect against shading more than the slight benefit from series cabling.
Some tilting ability will be featuring as well seeing as there is a ladder fitted right at the back so may as well add that option :)

Re booked our cancelled 2020 Europe via Guernsey (to see son and family) trip for late May which I suspect is a bit optimistic, but at least it keeps the vouchers in play. Spent zillions getting lithiums, inverter, new solar and all the electronic trickery fitted last September and never had the opportunity to use it in anger yet. We‘ll all get away sometime though so let’s keep cheerful.

🤞

Fitting a smuggling compartment so customs don’t steal my supper and breakfast.
that is an interesting point. Will customs come on and have a rummage in every motorhome fridge looking for any animal products?
Might get a sticker for the door .... "Viva la Vegan!"

and on a more serious note ... what if someone has a dog that has a specific diet? Are pet foods subject to same rules as human foods?

Cam belt change in two weeks. New boots fitted November, Ready to fill and head out disease/time off willing 🙏

"There is also an exemption for powdered infant milk, infant food, and special foods or special pet feed required for medical reasons, if weighing less than 2 kilograms" Import Rules And they may employ sniffer dogs to find hidden dog food - and scoff the lot.

We normally take a whole 3 months supply for ours, but that's a no-no now.

The only thing I would do now is to maybe add a larger tilting solar panel and fit a b2b, no rush though as we're on ehu and looks like we'll be going nowhere for a fair while yet.
Might add an electric bike too! 🤔

Re-booked two crossings to France for June and September with everything crossed 🤞 🤞, in the meantime the grandkids use the van as a pretend horse box ..... 😂😂

Get the ebike, if the pub is a couple of miles away, not a problem.
It got so hot on one of our trips, we used the ebikes to make our own breeze on the way to the beer garden 😁

I can see another piece of paper being added to cross channel travel. A form that you sign to say you don’t have any prohibited goods on board ( dairy etc), just as airlines do when you travel to other non EU countries.
And you are allowed to take a small amount of special diet dog food as well as some infant food.

Get some cyclist stickers for France and then wait with hope and a little optimism.

I missed this. Can you give me the link please.👍
Unless you meant Crit Air sticker

I think it's only vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, but I would check out the link that 2CV pointed to first.
