Read on here ages ago about a product to spray on the back of van carpets. My mats are leaving “ sand” on the floor, every time I move them.
No need to put your suggestions on a postcard, just leave them below.😬🙄

Do not put sand in your hab area !
But of the sand does not go through th mats
It will simply build up in/on the mat. !

Think you may have missed the point. Lol.
No one has put sand into the van. The “Sand” is whatever the backing is on the underside of the mat. I think it’s what was used to provide an anti slip surface to the vehicle mats from new.

Derek I wonder if it wouldn't be better to get new mats made.
I recall Wully knows of someone that can do them but you might find someone closerer to home.
The reason for this if the backing is perished then the carpet is probably on it's way aswell.

Have some Aldi rubber backed runners you can have, different shades of grey. We got them to use as an alternative to the ones we have at the moment but they are a bit too light weight for us.....FOC...can bring to Hereford if you would like them.

Fifty shades of grey sounds interesting 🤔

Yes please,Very generous, that you. 👍

I bought a few rubber backed mats from Ikea for about £5 each and then cut them to fit. I know this causes joints but the mats are reasonably heavy so lie flat at the joints anyway. Or you could use tape underneath on the joints

What you need Trotter is a bottle of latex I got mine off eBay and it stopped the sand like effect and also made the carpets nonslip.

John.
A bit like Copydex?

Look up a local carpet binding company, there was a company in Glasgow supplied the carpet you just pay for binding, cant remember there name think I posted about it but that's past me in how to look up 😂 , keep your old carpet for template,

Definitely liquid latex. I posted on here a while ago when I did mine and they have been fine since. As said above buy some on ebay and just brush it onto the back of your mats, get rid of really loose stuff first.
Simples
K ;)

Thanks all. I'm going to give TJBi's suggestion. Looks like Vanterrier confirms it. I'll buy a litre, and see how it goes on the cab carpet first and take it from there. I do have the spare set that came with the van, They were breaking down as well.

I’ve some Unibond pva in the shed. Unless someone says, NO, DON’T, I’ll try that first.
I found latex product on Amazon, if the pva doesn’t work, I’ll order that.

We have the same problem and the carpets are only 4 years old!

I'll look into the latex suggestion too.

Latex ordered. Although it may be a while before I can get to use it.
