The mouse problem

Those of you who read about my battery issues will know that a mouse infestation in the van put the tin hat on me not making to the New Year bash.
Well the little devils have obviously communicated to their domestic counterparts and have invaded the cupboard I keep my Christmas decs in. There was no sign of anything when I got them out so I can only surmise that the mouse population have put a contract out.
So its mouse traps at dawn so to speak.

Blue food as well, you have no idea how big the population is. We got the rat problem at work under control that way. The police did say we couldn’t feed it to the two legged rats, as much as they wished we could!
 
Assuming that means they are in the house now as well? Once you have got rid, plug in a few of the sonic deterrent plugs around the place. They don't make them go once they have set up home but they do deter future home seekers from settling.
They don't seem to work on rats though, only mice.
Nothing seems to work on rats. :mad:
 
Put broken glass in their holes... if they stop wriggling long enough.

We had an infestation of mice a few years ago -- took about a fortnight to clear using traps and I ended up catching 13 of the little blighters before all was done. I also had to fit fine mesh over every ventilation hole open to the outside. FWIW, I found the most effective bait to be smooth peanut butter. Allegedly, cotton-wool balls impregnated with peppermint oil placed wherever they haven't yet invaded does a good job of preventing the spread of infestation -- but it won't stop them following existing trails.
 
We have sprayed our van and car with peppermint oil, following a mouse infestation under the bonnet of the car and subsequent electric failure. Now the van is called minty (may have overdone the spray!)
Also leave a plug in sonic deterrent under the bonnet of whichever vehicle is not in use.
We did put some bait in the car attached with black tack in an engine recess, but are reluctant in the van as worried it may attract them. We never really worried about mice till it happened.....now a bit obsessed:sneaky:
 
In 8 years of living in the MH not one mouse but we do travel with a cat.
Until repairs !!!
We left the MH for a week and kindly Adam put it in his workshop/barn. We got back and Mickey and Minnie had moved in eating chocolate, custard powder and drinking chocolate and my mattress cover :(
We caught one the cat caught the other, imagine the damage if we had stored for six months.
We caught the one with chocolate silly little bugger 😂😂😂

Our haul of 45 mice was amassed using a bait of soft spread margarine blended with hot chocolate powder which we pressed down into the bowl of the plastic trap, so that the mouse has to exert pressure onto the trap mechanism to reach the food. We set the trigger on the finest of hair trigger [had a couple 'spring' whilst I was placing them back on the floor ...], and wait a few minutes for the aroma to reach the mice and then listen for the 'ping' of the trap

I have always sworn by Jeyes Fluid, diluted as wash to very thoroughly erase all of their trails that normally only ever follow the perimeter of a room.
I have also used to good effect neat Jeyes Fluid, sprayed onto tyres (both sides), corner steadies and suspension parts.
And as others have said you need to put a fine metal mesh over all openings, not forgetting that the damnable mouse can flatten its head and body to gain access through opening which are considerably narrower than their body!

Mice.......... I hate them!
