Is there a list of them available or are they run by one of the clubs ? Thanks
If you are a member of the Camping and Caravan Club, on the club website go to magazine, out and about and they are listed there. Alternatively there is an Out and About app available for Android and IOS.

Yes Abington cricket club great venue , we use it at least once a year with the CCC rallies several DAs use it throughout the year last time we were there we watched the Swan Upping being done, take the bus to DIDCOT to the Railway museum if that is your bag or Wantage and Swindon all in easy reach by bus from Abington free for us oldies too with the bus pass hee hee Abbington town is good lots there and a SPOONS too , take a boat trip to OXFORD or get the bus all very easy we were at Abington once and there was BUN THROWING going on, it is a ritual thing that happens on Royal Occasions there would have been one for what's his faces recent do, the Worthies of the town get up on the roof of the town museum / town hall and throw bread rolls down to the peasants below as a gift from the Hoi Polloi , thousands of buns are thrown and folks bellow catch them in upturned umbrellas, what they do with them is anyone's guess , probably feed the ducks, not many poor in Abington I think, one problem with the venue is that it is so close to the Thames that it can flood, we had to move off early one year as it poured with rain and the field was getting inundated and the Thames was rising , but not a problem, all the DAs that use the site warn about possible flooding in their blurb for the Rallies. Often Cricket matches there if that interests you to watch, there is a POI just at the edge of the field and road and often vans are there wilding, had a chat to a couple last time we were there and put them wise to the rally toilet dump that they could use , A lovely walk Thames side from the site to the River Lock and weirs People watching and boat antics, cross the Weir Bridge and walk back along the river through the parks where there often happenings fetes and fairs etc and back into the town. So if you are a CCC member do try it , it is a good place to be .IMG_20210729_144232.jpgIMG_20210729_144242.jpgIMG_20210729_144303.jpgIMG_20210729_160259.jpgIMG_20210729_160313.jpgIMG_20210729_160318.jpgIMG_20210729_160501.jpg

When the idiots with motorhomes ruined wildcamping (in a big coachbuilt), the THS were the difference between packing it all in or continuing. There are some really great temporary sites around the UK.

If they don't, or rather does the other and larger C&MC run similar sites?

There we 2 THS sites running at Lymington the same time as Motorhomets were at the Strawberry Fields one was at Bampton farm close to the ferry port the other was at Leylands the other end of the road leading to the ferry port both fields owned by the same people who also own the fields where the strawberries are currently grown, if you ever fancy a spell strawberry picking and living in your van whilst doing it you can get a job at Bampton farm as a temp picker. we stayed 2 nights nights at Leylands on the THS and moved to the Motorhomers rally at strawberry fields on the Saturday so we could go to the car boot sale there on the Sunday, it all worked on very well thankyou
