Hi all
Wonder if anyone can help
Last week i noticed my freezer defrosted. So i checked the volts at the fuse box and at the back of the fridge both pretty much the same reading. Also cleaned the condenser not that it was that dirty. The fridge is (and has been for 2 and a half years) wired with 4mm cable and hasnt been too bad, i think ive always had it on setting number 3.
The fan and compressor seem to work, solid orange light when not on and blue light when the compressor is working, no flashing lights or anything.
I checked all the earths on the bus bar and at the fuse box and they all seem fine, but 1 which was tight enough but would turn a smidge so tighten it up. The thing is when it started playing up i would put the diesel heater on and after a short while the fridge would kick in.
I unplugged it from the power for about 20 mins to see if it would reset it and tried it again, everything froze again but then later at night it defrosted again, so i turned it up to setting number 4, it was on working for a few hours getting up to temp and everything seemed fine all day. then i went to work at 9pm and by 2am when i came back to the van (for lunch break) it was starting to defrost again. It was cold so i put the heating on and the fridge kicked in again. Then again it seems to work ok for the last couple of days kicking in and out (probably a bit too much but still its on and off)
I was wondering if the Thermistor or something was intermittent. but now i wondering whether my batteries aren't fully working. With the cold weather if i don't put the heater on for a bit and warm the battery compartment up they struggle to fully charge, even when warmed up the last 3/4% is slow. But my Victron B2B's are still charging so i'm not sure what's happenning. Hence me posting here to see if anyone might beable to help with any idea's
My batteries are 2 x 120A AGM's, i've got 2 30A Victron B2B's charging them. Usually lately when charged (from driving) they show 12.7/8.
I am this weekend going to be on mains hook up, so that might tell me a little more by the end of the weekend. If the fridge works all weekend as it should then yeah maybe it's my batteries dying, but i get no warning lights on the fridge....
Sorry for the long post but wanted to put as much info that i can remember (no doubt forgot something that will come to me later lol)
thanks in advance if anyone can help
