3 Data sim reduced in price

Thanks, just ordered one for when the mifi unit from tezza33 arrives

To clarify I am aware there is a 24 month maximum usage from once activated. However I have read though amazon questions and some say that it must be activated within 6 months of purchase, others say there is no expiry on the activation date. Can anyone confirm from experience that there is no expiry on the required activation date.

I think there is an activation limit. Not sure how long. One would not work for me ; so I took it into the three shop where they gave me another. They did ask how long I had had it, but did not pursue the point.

My sim finished yesterday, that is how I noticed the reduced price on amazon. When one sim is low I have a replacement ready to fit and then order another for the shelf. My sims usually last upwards of 12 months and I have not had any issues with time limits on activation. I did on a previous occasion order 2 when they were £24 for 24gb for 24 months and assuming my normal usage pattern, they could have been up to 2 years in the van before the second was activated. I wonder is this assumption about time scale similar to the problem found by some regarding their sim being capped at about half the capacity. My just finished sim had 48mb on it yesterday before it expired. I ordered 2 yesterday.

I'm lucky, I have a son with a prime account, so providing that I don't abuse it, he will treat me, and that is how the sim card arrived this morning. Anyway we are spending a few days over in Cromford near Matlock because I have a medical appointment on Tuesday, and should stuff go elliptical it's not far from home.
Terry, pm on its way

Someone once told me that u can get away with using a basic data only SIM asking as you don't check ur balance, it doesn't register when u started using it!!
Don't know it that's true!!!

We have moved away from using 3 data cards. Fine in the UK but, in Europe, the 24gb they claim is reduced to 12gb. I know you can swap cards but what a faff. We have also discovered that 3 only works on 3G in some countries such as Norway where we are now. Switched to a Vodafone data contract.

I've kept them a year or two before use with no problems. Not safe with EE SIMs, though. They do expire.

I had a 40Gb a month sim on contract with 3. Checked with 3 and on contract capped at 18Gb. A quick think and now have two Mifi contracts of 20Gb each for the same price as the sim only £17. When one runs out just change settings. We use a fire stick so eat data.
