We booked the ferry to Spain last year and with the Covid 19 outbreak around the world we were sure the ferry would be cancelled and we wouldn't be going on holiday this year, but with just 2 weeks left before we are due to go and Brittany Ferries resuming service it looks like we are still going. We had originally planned on going to Morocco, but will now probably stay touring Spain & Portugal. We currently have nothing booked except the ferry, so if you know of any wild camping spots, fun campsites, or just great days out with the kids, please get in the comments below and let us know.

Millions of lovely sites on Wildcamping. POIs.
Avoid the beaches near big resorts, if possible. It's peak season and will be hot, crowded and expensive.

Inland, especially in the north, is cooler, less busy and has plenty of attractions for the kids.
In many villages, there's often parking and bars near where they dam the pure mountain streams...
And you've less chance of being robbed.. The junkies prefer large towns, where they can fence the loot and buy more drugs.
Portugal had a long history of liking us Brits..
Spain, however..........

It is likely to change before your trip, and Spain is on the “safe” list, but currently FCO advice is against travel to Portugal.

Just watched the video and realise that you already know this. Have a good trip.

If it is at all possible, take the kids to the ‘zoo’ at Cabarceno. 43.358135 -3.819127
Free overnight parking, but I couldn’t trust the ‘services’, so good idea to check you are ok for water etc before you arrive.
You can choose between walking around the enclosures or riding the cable car, looking down at the animals.
Officially you are allowed to stay for two days, but there is a van parked at the far end that has been there for four years!

The northwestern Spanish region of Galicia imposed restrictions on about 70,000 people on Sunday following a COVID-19 outbreak, a day after Catalonia also introduced a local lockdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

More towns and villages are going back on lockdown each day now so when you start look at on the internet to see if any of the arises you plan to travel through and still open, also you might find that some shops, garages are only open in the mornings the other thing is bring some facemasks with you some places are taking the P--S on what they are charging for them,

Thanks Rog, we have had this recommended 4 times now so it's clearly a popular place to visit. It's definitely on the list, hopefully will be our first stop on the way out, although as we dock at lunchtime and it looks like we may need a full day there, we might just make it our last stop on the way back as it's convenient for the ferry.

:cry:Just my luck, The beach we fish of is closed now this beach you never see anyone swimming there is so many rocks there its not a beach to swim from in 20 years I have never seen anyone swimming there and the only ones that use it are fishing, my friend phone the police and they confirmed that it is closed till further notice

No problem, you could park up, get organised, and go around refreshed the next morning. Nobody checks how long you are parked up. Have fun!

If you do get there, fill your drinking water from the super sping water available.

Yes a great day out, take your van in to the park, easy way to get around plenty of parking at all the animals enclosures no extra charge and be sure to ride the cable car too.

Don't Laragh if you want to go on the beach in or near Benidorm here you have to book a place. :D

I'd be tempted to give the big resorts a wide berth, this time..
Judging by reports of what's happening in Albufiera.
The tourists seem to be leaving their brains on the airport

The mountains above Benidorm are really lovely, Guadalest, the cv- 715 road has amazing views and walks. A bit winding maybe for large van.
Plus 1 for the views inland around Guadalest.
.

Some of the villages are Moho friendly.. Eating and drinking is much cheaper than in resorts.
