Weather Report..................

Trip over to Saumur was consistently wet and unpleasant, so a good travelling day in a sense. Dried up overnight although as I type the sun is out and we have a light shower. Forecast is good after some more showers today and tomorrow morning. Currently 17° with an expected high of 22° and a gentle breeze.

Well, here on the Essex Blackwater (not East Sussex) it's 21 degrees and absolutely lovely.

Now that Mrs HS has been dismissed by her consultant, it's our first trip for months.

There's a decent pub 100m to the south, and a newly reopened alternative 100m to the north. What's not to like. Two very happy campers. :D

Just for Colin, the sunshine and heavy showers are continuing in Saumur ..............
Here's the sun .......

Thanks for the photos and memories, Dave. When I used to enjoy a glass or two I used to bring back bottles from Cave Ackerman, about 5km north west of the centre of Saumur:

I still do, but now it's for the family to enjoy.
BTW, if you're travelling along the Loire I'd strongly recommend the municipal aire at Sully-sur-Loire. A lovely town, great rides along the Loire, a spectacular Chateau - and a wonderful opportunity to visit St Benoit-sur-Loire where the remains of the founder of the Benedictine order can be visited. It's a lovely bike ride from Sully.
I visited Sully with Annie (Campervanannie) having extolled it's virtues. It pi$$ed down and we got soaked.
But we laughed a lot.

Colin 🙂🙂🙂

Forgot to attach photo of how busy it is here. Just how I like it.
Claustrophobia...?
Or B.O.,,,,😝?
Are you sure you're not parked in the grounds of someone's stately home..?.
Looks perfect .

Weather...
Good, gentle Autumn day.
Still able to cook and eat outside but tee shirts and shorts needed, when the sun is lower
Gipsy market today .
Very pleasant to see more folk around, now they've relaxed the restrictions to level one.
Bought heavy, thickness Jogging bottoms..
A sure sign that winter draws on.

We had heavy rain overnight brought on by a cold front. The wind is stronger than of late, but it's mild at 15°C. Once the cold front passes over it's forecast that the temperatures will revert to something more usual for this time of the year.
Yesterday afternoon we sat in warm sunshine listening to 'Jazz in the Park'. It might be quite a while before we do that again.

Colin 🙂🙂🙂

It's 18° and somewhat breezy. The rain started about 8am and will continue until lunch time.

I think we'll let the worst of the rain pass over and then take a stroll along the Blackwater Wall.

Yesterdays official forecast was completely wrong, as the early morning quickly turned into an amazing day with clear blue skies. It was actually hot as we sipped a pint over the Blackwater.

Today its similar, with a cool 16° and light cloud. But to the south the skies are already clearing and I anticipate that the bulk of the day will be rather pleasant. Rain from late afternoon onwards.

Bright but cooler start today in Saumur. The sun is trying but the cloud is forecast to win out for most of the day. The south easterly breeze is barely perceptable and the autumnal start means we only have 14° now with a high of 20° later. Probably the last time we will see 20° or over on this trip but it is dry 👍.
