I joined NFOP and then took out their travel insurance. Basically Civil Service insurance.
Forget all their conditions but very easy to do .

LV ..£89 Yearly policy .you tell them your pre existing conditions and medication, they exclude them .
That will do nicely..

Our LV cover for European travel, with heart attack for me and high blood pressure for Elaine, was some £378. I know you are 'saving' £1400 based on your Allclear quote, but what will it cost you if a medical emergency does occur?

Medical emergency covered, just not pre existing

378 is that the world wide policy..

I know I'm not one of you snow birds but when I have travelled I now consider whether any emergency could occur relating to preexisting conditions. For example, do you have a condition that could include another event causing admission to hospital and then perhaps being transported home safely. These could include previous heart attacks, stroke, and other things. If you have a stable condition perhaps you can exclude them but the cost of getting you home in a worst case scenario could be horrendous and, depending on your finances, life changing.
Just a few thoughts off someone who has had to look at such issues in the past for a relative.

Try Advanti as you only need European cover for Morrocco. I have a lot of pre existing conditions which they covered one in particular osteoporosis in back with three fractures. Can't remember exactly how much I paid but it was under the thousand for twelve months

NFOP , as mentioned earlier, is a good bit below a thousand

Just got renewal notice from NFOP £400 . 10% increase . Basic condition is you must be fit to travel . World cover is £470

It is worth pointing out that for my wife and I (70-79), our premium for the incoming year is £579

That figure is for worldwide cover with trips of up to 65 days for most destinations.

European cover would be £489

So am excellent deal if you join before the age cut off. My brother in law has had to make two claims for cancelled holidays and both have been paid without issue.
