Hi there. My name is Andy. I've started a YouTube channel called Camper, Camera, Go! This week I posted my 2nd video in a series I'm making called Seeing Scotland in a Motorhome where you can follow my travels in my Rollerteam 746 and see the places I find to park up. I hope to release a new video every Wednesday, but that's going to be a challenge so we'll see how it goes.

Ep.1... Largs- Inverkip
Ep.2...Gourock and Greenock.

Please have a look and let me know what you think.

Great stuff Andy keep em coming.

Bit towny for my taste but some nice spots nonetheless (maybe you'll convert me).

Phill

There'll be some wilder ones coming soon Phill. Thanks for watching. :)

Looking forward to more. Subscribed today. Good location details help others plan trips. Costs of events is always useful. Keep up the good work.

Great videos, many thanks Andy, please keep them coming! I am planning to tour Scotland again in late May/June in my camper van and am really looking forward to going up there again. Will you be doing the northern islands? Last time I was up there, the weather was not settled enough for me to be tempted to take the trip across, but would love to see some footage of yours if you are going there. I will be following you on your uTube channel too. Enjoy your trip

If it's a forestry track within the camping management zone, then no you can't stay there during the summer period. If it's outside of the zone though then it's up to you if you think it's suitable. Hope that helps.

At the moment our summer holiday is a toss up between a European trip or staying in Scotland. Even if we don't spend our main holiday in Scotland I'm certainly keen to visit as many of the islands as I possibly can and I'll be making videos as I go. :)

Bummer! I understand the need for controls in the more popular areas but had hoped that the more remote areas may not be under the control. I've looked at the permit system and while I don't object to the payment my concern is that it steers me to park in a specific area that will inevitably be busy (comparatively).

We wild camp because we like the solitude (and our dog is quite skittish) and therefore prefer to be in the middle of nowhere, nowhere near anyone else.

Ah well, there's plenty more beautiful areas outwith The Trossachs!

We haven't managed to point out motorhome south yet ! It keeps veering off North and up to Scotland. So, we are very interested to see what little gems you find on your travels.
Good luck with the YouTubing

We can recommend the three locks drive in the Trossachs. It's a seven mile one way forest drive with sites available (area B, D &E) - you do need to book (https://www.lochlomond-trossachs.org/things-to-do/camping/). The areas near loch Drunkie are the best in our opinion. There isn't any facilities for water or toilet, so you need to sort that before you enter the one way system.

regards

John

If in the Trossachs I’d recommend staying on the Queen Elizabeth Forest Drive. Some nice quiet spots and only £3 a night booked online. WEBSITE
That's where we stayed on our very first outing in the motorhome. A fantastic spot and well worth the money.

Thank you John, I've just posted a pic from our very first motorhome trip, which was at 3 lochs forest drive. This is area E. What a wonderful place. :)
