I think the cab lights have a permanent 12V positive connected to them and the light is turned on and off by connecting the ground(or not) to the other end of the lamp.i have installed a 12v fan in the top vent outside and conected it to the internal cab light cable when the lights are off fan works fine when i turn light on fan goes off have i wired this the wrong way round ?
Yep, so same thing applies re where you've picked up power, you've probably put a meter on the wires and read 12V and assumed that's 12v directly from the battery which it isn't, it's 12v coming from the battery via the interior light bulb and this point gets connected to ground in order to bring the light on. So when the light is on there's no powerHello guys the fan is a BRUNNER VENTO NG92 12V FRIDGE FAN with auto and manual control panel
