Hi all, I'm thinking of planning a trip in 2nd half April / early May return ( this my holiday allocation). So far I reckon ferry Harwich to Hook of Holland, race through Holland and Germany to get to Denmark, visit a few places over a few days, then over Oresund bridge, down south first to visit friend in Ystaad. Then travel north to hopefully reach Norway.
My question is this..., Do you think I stand a ghost chance of seeing the Aurora Borealis and how far north do I need to trek ? Also is it commonly seen in late April early May ?
Any tips greatly appreciated
Thanks in anticipation.

Denmark can be wet and cold in April, to reduce driving consider a ferry from Germany to Sweden. If it is a late spring don't do too far north, snow and ice. If good weather and you want to go north then Sweden is a better/ faster drive than Norway and no tolls.

April will have rain and snow as you go north I'd wait until you can go later and spend more time to make it worth while we spent 3 mths doing what you talking of and felt we rushed
Have a look here to see last years April Weather
