I will be selling my 2019 Autosleeper Bourton. I'm not sure if this is the right place to advertise it or is there a specific 'For Sale' thread? Basically it is on a Mercedes automatic chassis, 3500kg, four berth four belts, 17,500 miles, hydraulic self levelling, serviced and just had a healthy hab check. Drives lovely. The best automatic there is, the best diesel there is, the best cab seating there is, I want £60k for it and I appreciate that there won't be a rush, I don't suppose everyone has that much spare cash sloshing about unused (or of course there are banks that will loan money) but just in case there is, if you are interested I can post lots and lots of information and photos.

Hi Carrerasax, no it isn't sold, we have just been away for two weeks. If you are interested please call me on 07936 534943. I am located in between Leicester and Rugby, about one mile from the M1 junction 20. The mileage is actually 18,326, I have just checked.
It has just passed the MOT with no advisories. Also it has a new damp certifiicate from AutoSleepers. It is ready to go, I have emptied everything from inside. It's downplated to 3500kg, but can easily be replated up.
Andrew

Oh pity, we’re looking for a PVC, good luck 😀

It is now with motorhome depot, so we'll see what happens. Mr Motohome Depot says my Bourtion is 'right on the money' at £60k so he is advertising it at £59,995. There are plenty of similar age and spec at somewhat more, but he was enthusiastic about it. My neighbour paid £35k for an autotrail about 18 months ago. He has done a lot of work on it, finding and ripping out all the damp and skillfully replacing it with dry timber. He has just managed to sell it for £17k, leaving him with £3k of negative equity. He has been paying a loan on monthly payments for it since he got it and now he doesn't have the motorhome but he still has £3k of debt.

Paid £35k, sold for £17K and left with £3k Negative Equity?
Did you get your calculator from TEMU along with the dodgy cable?

(I suppose you mean he still owed £20k on the loan? Sounds like he didn't check his purchase well at all?)

He paid a dealer (I don't know which one) £35k. Had two or three short holidays in it. His two dogs died, which was the main reason for having the motorhome. So he decided to sell it and advertised it for £27k. Got the usual 'Oill giv yer twenny" sort of phone calls. One serious, sensible viewer brought a proper damp meter and spent a long time with him showing him where all the damp was. My retired neighbour then spent over a month taking the inside apart, removing any damp and replacing the damp timbers. He put it all back together so it was far superior to how it was when he bought it and then tried to sell it. He has finally given up hope, and sold it for £17k. I think it's a lovely camper, I would have bought it but I already have two!
And before anyone says he should have gone to a solicitor, have you ever tried that? I have. I had a decidedly not fit for purpose brand new Rapido which went back to Brownhills three times because the electric bed kept failing. On the fourth time, after Brownhills had given up on it and told me to take it to Rapido in France, I found and fixed the fault which was a blatant couldn't give a 'rotation of a coin' act on the part of the Rapido factory staff. Then the bed collapsed in one corner. I went to a solicitor who charged me £600 to write a letter to Brownhills saying I want my money back. Brownhills said NO so I went back to the solicitor who said "I'll take the case but you will have to give me £20,000 deposit which will buy you your first day in court. Then you may lose in which case on top of my fees you will have to pay theirs, and Brownhills will be very liberal with their expenses". Legally Brownhills will say that you have had three months use out of it which is worth £xxxx, and so on.
So anyone who says you are legally entitled to so-and-so has not experienced trying to take legal action. The only people who can take a case to court are the very rich, people who have a grudge against a govenment body because solicitors will take the case and 50% of the winnings, and prisoners.
The only legal actions I have taken have been in the Small Claims Courts, all of which I have won. It doesn't cost you much to go to a small claims court (for claims under £10k). I have recently won my full deposit back after a dealer told me this Fiat Ducato they were selling me had one of the new fully automatic gearboxes, after I had said I did not want a comfortmatic. I discovered the night I had placed the deposit that it was a comfortmatic so I cancelled the order and requested my deposit back, which they refused to pay. So in the end I won in court (obviously representing myself, I can't afford £20k for a solicitor). The dealer lost several hundreds of pounds in addition to repaying my deposit, plus having to close their business for the day and pay two staff to go to court.

If anyone is still awake, I have now sold the Bourton .

What to buy next ? ? ? ? ? ? Or keep Hardly, the 1999 Transit. Probably. And take a World Cruise or two. You can do a lot with the price of a 2019 motorhome.

Well done! More £££ to spend in norway

I think you mean "some money to spend in Norway"!
But you are right. I'll have to look at that youtube on the cost of a 3 month tour.
There's no point in putting any money in an investment, it will just plummet. My Financial Advisor (the male one, not the female one that I live with) has told me to SPEND IT. If there was a decent new camper I would buy it. But there isn't, they are all fault-infested. You can put up with (and usually fix) faults on a 25 year old camper, but faults on new ones are just a nightmare. You can't fix them and neither can the dealers.

Norway is great...worth checking prices for a rental for maybe 4weeks as part of the plan and also a coach or train tour. Spend spend spend

Norway / train?
I can tell you a thing.
We were on a cruise which stopped at Flam for the day. One of the cruise line's excursions for the day was "A trip on the World Famous Flam Railway up over the mountains and back" price £75 per person. At the destination, stop for a cup of tea and a sandwich included in the price.

I just wondered.
I went and googled Flam Railway.
The current price is £37 ish, but it was half that when we went. £15 each instead of £75 each. I wonder what the cruise lines are charging now? I then wondered how long the coach journey was from where the ship docks to the Flam railway station. There wasn't a coach journey. The railway station is about 100 metres from the ship as you can see if you rotate this street view:
There is only one train a day. Plebs like us who paid £15 were on the same train as the gullible cruise passengers who paid £75. There isn't a first class coach for the cruise line passengers, with dancing girls and champagne, it's the same train going to the same place, stopping for the same time and then returning. What they got for their £60 extra was a cup of tea and a sandwich. Or perhaps maybe two sandwiches and a cake. There is a never ending supply of tea and cake on the cruise ship, so that bonus is worthless.

This weekend we are off to a short cruise to Ireland where you can either take a cruise line excursion from Cobh to the Blarney Castle, prices start at £200 ish for the excursion or pay I think €9 for a return bus fare plus the cost of the castle entry. Guess what we will be doing? Specially as it is a one hour bus ride each way and the cruise excursion lasts 4 hours. So the cruise line excursion will be 2 hrs on the coach leaving 2 hrs for the castle and Blarney town. We will have 2hrs on a bus and up to 5 hrs in the castle and town.

Think that is the default setting of every cruise company ?

Sort of, but some excursions you cannot do on your own, eg Petra, but it is a 2hr coach ride into the desert, and then a 2 mile walk into the valley where houses and temples were carved into the cliffs. If it's a dodgy area for tourists you need to be in the group. Next week in Cobh is another example. The excursion in Cork is £200 pp to go to Blarney castle, or £9 each return bus fare on your own. You pays your money and takes your choice. A common one is for example in the Caribbean where you can take a cruise excursion for 3 hours round part of the island for loadsa wonga, or hire yourself a taxi for the whole day for a quarter of the price and go to all the really interesting places. Specially cheap if you share the taxi with other cruise passengers. And in that case you are probably taken to the Taxi driver's aunt's cafe up in the hills somewhere and treated to afternoon tea and chat with the locals. You will have noticed that the further you walk from where the cruise ship docks, the cheaper the taxis become.
