Abbotsbury stopover perfic.

Wow. Love that place. We used to go courting there in our first motorhome, an Austin Healey Sprite. Yes it is possible. So is overnighting. We took the rear seat backs off, turned the seat squabs around, heads in the boot. Result, 2 single beds. We parked in the entrance to the Swanerry, right under the sign saying no parking in the gateway. The Warden arrived at 6am, I was cooking bacon on a camping Gaz stove perched on the luggage rack on the boot. He sniffed and said "that smells great!" Young love, 1962 style.

Hats off to that Area , let's hope more Areas & Councils get there Heads around this to bring Revinue to the local area's, good to see well posted. Let's hope the Minority don't spoil it for us all.Just noticed it's very near to Portesham where we stayed in November last year ( Portesham Dairy Farm ) so nxt time down that way we will be giving it a go, thanks Chris.

Sep 1976 Palace of Versailles Car Park for an overnight [arrived in our Skoda base model just after last admission deadline!]. Cooked tin of Sainsburys Mince and Carrotts and stodge of Smash on single burner Calor stove. Then wound rears of front seats backwards, raised rear seat swabs on standard equipment frame with a spike to latch into pre-drilled hole to make 2 full length single beds that converted to a double by ramming a travel rug over the handbrake cavity. 'Tis better to have lust and love than never to have lusted at all' as someone famous nearly wrote o_O
