Alde boiler noise.

We have an Alde system. When the boiler starts, there is a loud rumbling vibration coming from the boiler, enough to vibrate the exhaust hose. It sounds like a noisy pump or motor but the radiator pump is separate. After it has warmed up, the noise reduces but still quite loud. Any ideas what the problem is? Can't do much atm as we are high in the Alps.

Mine in the Concorde had a bleed screw on the top of boiler near the hot water dump it might be air in the system

We are still on hookup atm but I will try that when next on gas. I doubt it though as it sounds like a lorry is passing by, quite a bass motor sound.

I know you are in Europe, may be worth a call to Alde Northampton, I have found them helpful in the past. 01933 677765
Thanks. I phoned them and they think it may be the exhaust fan has a problem. No danger so another job to look at when I get home. One day I will have a holiday that does not create a list of things to do to the motorhome when I get home.

I have found the problem. At high altitudes, the burner struggles with low pressure. Alde can supply a valve that removes this problem. After a second call to them they have confirmed this is the case. Why could they not have told me about this with my first call. I was set to take the motorhome to a specialist on my return to England. The valve is £98 and is easy to fit.
