It's a fictional movie but I think it is pretty believable though (has low viewer ratings but I've watched it maybe 3 times and like it (as a movie!))

Also read the stories about the 'kill switch' in the Lockheed F35 Jet that a lot of NATO countries (including UK) have bought? that is also very believable, and a concern if there are possible NATO vs NATO conflicts!

When GB were sea testing the then new aircraft carrier they noticed it started to steer slightly of course some times, they were still using win xp on control pc, but the new pc sys came from china, when they looked into this it was found a bug had been planted and china was able to take control of the ship.
After return to docks the whole lot had to be stripped out, hence she was again back out of service.
You would think we could have built our own sys rather than buy in from china.
These days we use red hat linux servers and ubuntu operating sys on sensitive stuff, the usa has also went down this path
