We have just returned from a brilliant trip to our favourite area of Welsh Wales and this time we tried out a new Caravan & Motorhome Club CL site and at only £5 it has to be one of the best and beautifully kept sites we have ever been fortunate to stop on. No electrics, dogs are allowed, good clean waste disposal point.
The large, mostly level well drained field is kept closely mown with the bonus that the cuttings are collected!

The site is known as Plas Forge, details can be found of it on page 560 of this years guide, with a site number of 2233. The GPS location as given in the guide is wrong and I have advised the Club as such, the correct location is N52.58210 W3.82320

Yes a great wee site and the owner is very friendly too.

Two things to look out for though

The grass gets very boggy in wet weather and you would be well advised to stay on the track in those conditions

The entrance/exit is quite tight especially for larger vans especially if the owner has parked his car opposite the exit or you are reversing out due to having stayed on the track in wet weather. It's kind of blind too!

Not that it rains much in Wales eh?

The added bonus for us was that Dai, his oh so nice Mrs. and quite a few of their relations all love spaniels, so having 3 rescued four legged friends with us resulted in several of them popping along to meet them all..

Mind you, dog walking from the site isn't at all good as in both directions on the road from the site entrance, there are no pavements and with next to no places to stand safely to allow traffic to pass.

A few weeks ago it was rapidly getting dark.
I don't like trying to pitch up in the dark so we used the large public car park in the centre of Machynlleth.
A lot of the Powys car parks allow free overnight stops.

It was perfectly ok no yobs or other problems and we had a pleasant wander around the town in the morning.
