After a break of several years I've recently re-read Richard Dawkins book 'The God Delusion'. I find it a very persuasive read so tend to visit and admire churches and cathedrals as inspiring buildings rather than places for me to worship.
And Reims does it for me:

One can only guess at the number of man-hours that went into the construction. There is so much painstaking detail in even the highest parts of the edifice that could only be seen by the original masons or modern day visitors with binoculars.
I'm in awe of the builders.
There is so much to appreciate. The glass window depicting the skills needed to produce the local wine (Champagne), the huge glass window above the entrance:

The metal beasts above the entrance:

And my favourite, the Smiling Angel:
