Not a hobnob those are securely locked away behind the Jaffa cakes.

I've got two of these ... One from Lakeland and this one from Maplins (They are actually identical units). They are not a backup hob for me, but will be my main form of Cooking in the camper (via a 1000W PSW Inverter). Work very well and boil enough water for two mugs of tea/coffee in about 3 minutes.

I've only just been informed, that if you have a pacemaker, it's best to avoid induction hobs!
Not sure why but I guess it has to do with magnetism & the way they induce heat.

I've ordered one, thanks Nabs. Looks perfect for me at home, let alone in/outside the van if I have ehu. It'll use a lot less power at home than my big electric hob and because I batch cook for the freezer, day to day I only use one burner with veggies layered up in a small steamer.

With a Pacemaker the brown bread (cockney rhyming slang) would be in front of both Hobnobs & jaffa cakes

Mine arrived yesterday... nice neat little thing and perfect for using my small steamer. It wouldn't work for a big saucepan but I don't need anything bigger. It heats up a lot faster than the solid plates on my hob, so should be a bit more economical, although obviously it'll take the same amount of energy to boil water. The main reason I got this is because my poor 30 year old hob is really rusting now under the edges of a couple of the plates and this will help as a stopgap until I get round to doing the kitchen up.

By the way, Lidl have a more powerful version for sale this week... up to 22cm pan.
