Snow adverse. Missed Sarajevo as forecast was snow. Drove back down a mountain two days ago as one weather report said it may snow ...
snow chains are and insurance policy - not to be used!

Left Broadway caravan and motorhome club site this afternoon to drive home to south wales

roads rather quiet but drivable outside lanes on dual carriageways covered in snow but motorways clear but narrow

2 cars had collided on the M50 but all the occupants appeared to be standing on the hard shoulder so hopefully no injuries there

also saw a small car abandoned that had come off road (opposite side) near Penycraig as we headed towards Monmouth

camper on RWD Sprinter with 6 winter tyres fitted (also carry snowsocks , snow chains and snow shovel) so i felt confident about my vehicles ability but there was a lorry stuck at the exit off the M50 junc 2

A quick glance at Annies' number plate and I read...

Now who would turn the heating down low when they go away for the weekend, would that be the head of the household ?:Smiling_Face_with_T

No, I was supposed to be going away but chickened out on friday 'cos it didn't stop snowing all day. Thought about going on saturday as road was clear but forecast was bad so I stayed at home. Glad I did 'cos it didn't stop snowing all day again today. I don't remember it being this bad here before.
View from my front porch friday morning (that's the main road): Fri 8.12.jpgFri 8.12 3.jpg
And this morning (The van had been moved back and daughter had nicked my 4 x 4 and left me her little car): 20171210_093130.jpg

Are you at the C&CC site?

If so - its one of our favourites

The wardens there - Jason and Debbie - are excellent folks. Shame they are moving on next year...

I agree they are most helpful, I've just usedthe bus to go into Melksham, so handy for everything, have to look at the locks tomorrow.

I hope it starts to clear soon as we are off to Slimbridge for 4 nights on Saturday. All the main roads are clear around here but our street isn't and is now compacted, frozen snow...like a sheet of ice. I don;'t fancy bring the MH to our house on Saturday if that's still there!

Watch out for insurance requirements - one policy wanted us to keep the thermostats at 15 deg C. Our current one demands it is set at 12 deg C. In the past we've gone away and left it at about 6 deg without realising we probably shouldn't have. The alternative is draining boilers.
This may be only if you are away for extended periods.
