Anybody use anything like these ? Dont want to drill into the van metalwork , i know there is a possibility of scratches but its better than drilling holes

We have got similar and used them occasionally, they do work but van surface needs to be clean. They also need daily re-fitting otherwise there is a tendency for them to drop off particularly in hot weather.

That would be to risky for me .

Thanks i already have some i made a few years ago, my problem is getting them fixed to side of van, the bumper comes halfway up the rear panel and the front leg is lined up with the seam of sliding door, gonna try shifting the awning forward a couple of inches tomorrow , i want to be able to secure the awning without fixing to the ground

Many years ago, I used suckers on my caravan to support the awning. Yes it worked, but over time it also scratched the wall transfers.

You don't have transfers, so may ok, but for myself I'll not risk it again.

I’m thinking underpants ! Use two! in one leg out the waist hole , I can suction cup them to front of van after washing and give them a 70 mph blow dry 😉😀
