I've just gone back to work today after 9 months off with Miller Fisher syndrome I'm only doing 4 hours of light duties at the moment.getting up at6.30 was a shock to the system after such a long time off. Feel very tired but at least I'm well enough now to actually go to work. Was lot's of mickey taking from colleagues with jokes such as who are you and I thought you'd retired .it was strange to be back after such a long absence

I'd never heard of Miller Fisher syndrome, so googled it... sounds like an awful thing to go through :( There seem to be so many auto-immune illnesses these days but that's probably more because medical knowledge and diagnosis has improved so much. Well done for getting through it and back to work and long may you continue to enjoy good health (y)

I’m just off to google it but great your on top of it and back to work.

Sounds horrendous. Glad your fighting back but go easy, don't do too much too soon.

Thanks for the kind words it was horrendous when I first got it I collapsed and ended up in hospital had no feeling from waist down which really freaked me out doctors were checking for reflexes but I had none putting pins in me but couldn't feel it very worrying. They put me on a drip for 5 days which replenished my white blood cells with amazing results started to get reflexes back. Because it's such a rare condition I think every student doctor at Preston hospital wanted to come prod and poke and ask questions which helped make the time go quickly. Too cut a very long story short after 9 months I've managed to go back to work on reduced hours .to be honest work (royal mail) have been good to me but I have worked for them for nearly 32 years

It sounds bloody awful, glad you're on the mend and I hope it continues back to full health
