I honestly believe that France should have been given to Germany as war reparations and told to sort them out.

when i was in germany in the army sixties cold war time that had been a serious post war option in the same way that russia kept the east france was to have a strip along their border the uk & usa would operate a buffer zone down the centre i believe it was part of the truman proposal! ! thank god that was never actioned

Ahhh that will be easy to "work around", just pass the border at lunch time... they will all be busy scoffing and snoozing
