Breakdown Cover

For wha it is worth I have added a Travel pack to my Barclays current account which provided RAC comprehensive cover including uk and EU breakdown and recovery as well as medical cover, all for £12.50 per month (6 months min).
Has restrictions like 31 days per trip ( can pay extra to extend) and 3500kg max so will not be for everyone.
The benefit for me was my RAC renewal was due so I have stopped that now and made a £160 pa saving.
If you are already with Barclays it would be worth trawling through their t&cs to see if it is for you.

We're with a company called HIC £89 extra got us European recovery. Most companies would not touch anything over 10 years old. As with all insurance companies you never know if they are any good until you are in the Poo! The vehicle is a Mercedes 811D on their paperwork.
Let's hope we never find out. Next week it's the Czech Republic, so that will be a nice run.

Hmm... might not have made that saving on uk RAC cover...
My van is 6.3M and EU breakdown covers up to 7M
HOWEVER, uk cover is limited to 5.5M !!!
Wheres the logic in that???
Have asked RAC to explain.
Looks like I will need to renew my RAC Arrival cover afterall

Update and clarification...
I have a "motor caravan" so is covered by the " caravan/trailer" section which allows up to 7.6M.
Thats better.
