Hi. Further to having a 4.25. Motorhome. Taking 70 year old. Dvla treadmill medical. Dvla revoking c1 licence. Going into hospital having two stents/deplaqued and deferred. Specialist info me that he will not recommend to dvla to reissue c1. Even if I have bypass or pass dvla tests. He said history of angina/ heart attacks says no. I said. Ooh thank you co much doctor. Just what I wanted to hear. He can't take a joke. So will be advertising a lunar motorhome 800 for sale. Lots of extras More info photos to follow. £35.500. Then once sold will get a 3500. mhome. Cheers . P,,,,d off not happy brian

Bummer, but to be fair you,d be more peed off if you had a medical episode and mowed down a load of pedestrians. Admittedly you could still do the same in a 3.5t vehicle. Good luck with sale/purchase

Tough ! I think.
Not that you want to read this but..apart from the financial hit of selling and buying..
There are many advantages of being under 3500kg
Toll charges Vignette abroad. etc
Just take care with the health issues

A couple of years ago I considered going over 3500kg.but decided against it for the reasons you give.
For 2 people we "live quite happily/comfortably" (for 5 months every summert) in a 4 berth under 3500kg coachbuilt
Just find the one that suits

That is tough, I will have the same problem in 16 months because I have no chance of passing any medical, luckily for me though I can downplate our Hymer to 3.5T so apart from trying to lose a bit of weight it will not effect me too much, it makes an ass of the law though because I will be driving the same vehicle

Hi all interesting ref downplating. My lunar roadstar 800 is 4.250. How do you find out if it can be downplated to 3500. Or am I clutching at diminishing straws. Tow a caravan trailer with wife/ dog / everything in it only me in mhome. Nah won't work Brian

A trailer would work as you still aloud to tow about 2.5 tons I think. Maybe not with the Mrs in it lololol.

The Lunar Roadstar 800 has a payload of 660KG, if you minus that from 4250KG it will still be 3590KG so downplating to 3500 isn't possible for you I am sorry to say
