Calm before the storm?

A few gusty spells last night ahead of a Spain-wide Yellow, Orange and Red weather warnings for the next day.

But the Moncofa sunset last night was quite dramatic with stunning colours and light. We'll think of those when the forecast storm arrives ...

Hi All.
We had a very strong wind here in Central Portugal lots of houses damaged ,one friend had all the roof blown off landed on his two cars , luckily we only had minor house damage but seventeen huge trees down in garden ,and off the electric for five days ,running the generator to keep freezer running .all back to normal now.

We moved up to Torrevieja, then to Alicante... playing weather roulette.
Yesterday was gorgeous, today grey this morning suns trying to come out now but very windy.
Forecast is still talking about Gibraltar straights and Andalusia getting extreme weather for the rest of this week...

Stopped in Monsaraz overnight...loads of choice of parkups, including a big designated motorhome area. Lovely views of very murky flooded reservoir. Only met one closed road going north...Waze maps seems best at showing where there are closures or problems. IMG_20260211_143606290_HDR.jpgIMG_20260211_162610213_HDR.jpg

Copped for a real shaking overnight with 81kph winds hitting Brunhilde side on and the protection of the Austrian leviathan lost when he cleared off just before midnight, the first of 4-5 departures

A mix of yellow and orange wind warning for the weekend, so sit tight and probably leave middle of next week for Zaragoza

Gales for us all night down near Almeria too. Everything has another layer of sand/grit blast on it again now!!

We had Emergency Alerts on our phones this afternoon for Valencia warning of high winds and not to drive. We already knew that gusts up to 90kmh were forecast until midnight tomorrow so have parked quite sheltered this time.

We're in Peniscola now, staying at Camperpark LeBrisa.
We were thinking of moving tomorrow to Camping Ferrer just around the corner for EHU... however red storm warning tomorrow so I expect the bonus of EHU will be wiped out.
Staying put, filled tanks up, emptied toilet and hunker down for M6N games tomorrow 😁😁😁

Been gorgeous weather the last few days, showing 27° here today and 29° in the motorhome. Got all the hatches open and some fans also running in the motorhome to try and cool it down and left the exterior windscreen on as well. Long may it last.

Walked back up to the river bridges in Tortosa this morning. On Sunday, the river level was forming a straight line under the lettering on the far wall. Today, the lettering is 50% submerged and the river, which has risen 2-3 feet, is running much faster. Rain, snow melt, opening of dams further upstream? It's directly or indirectly attributable to the storms of the last month or so. And the Yellow Warnings for Castellon, Tortosa & Valencia are back for tomorrow, with an Orange Warning for Tarragona

We'll begin the drive towards cooler climes around Zaragoza tomorrow. Ferry crossing 25th/26th February.
