Connecting B2B

I am just about to finish wiring my B2B to a pair of 12v leisure batteries wired in parallel.
Is it critical that I connect the positive and negative charge wires to either end of the chain, similar to the load connections? Its just that I could be a bit short of length to do this.

If you mean to balance the load between the two batteries, then yes it is certainly preferable.
I would not say it is critical and the charger will work fine, just you will get an imbalance of charge between the two batteries so not optimal.
If you can "reverse" the connections to the bank i.e. instead of -ve to Battery A and +ve to Battery B, you do -ve to Battery B and +ve to Battery A, then that would work just as well.

Also.. if the short bit of cable is on the +ve side, remember you should have a fuse close to the battery and you could maybe make a longer tail from the Fuse holder to the battery?
And ... If you DO find you need to lengthen a cable, a fairly simple and cheap way is to add a fuse holder - even on the negative wire rather than trying to splice two thickish cables together (or even just fit ring terminals, use a M6 or M8 nut & bolt or whatever matches to clamp the two terminals together and then put the bolt in a little box or lots of insulating tape).

To be honest with only 2 batteries I wouldn't stress that much ...

Larger bank best practice would probably be to split ...

I do have a mega fuse holder ready to go in.

Here you go, dont make much of a differance with 2 batts, 0.1v, mine is just linked with one thick battery cable as 6 ft apart.
