i’m going through this process for the 3rd time 🤞🤞🤞birthday 20/02 leave on the 26/01 booked the d4drivers early february that went well filled in the D4 tried to obtain a D2 form now only available from a dvla post office but no list of them can’t download the form but they send the pack of both forms out 56 days before birthdate should have been with me boxing day but not here when i got home today, after phoning around found one at a random post office 15 mls away which ironically is about to close for good , there were 11,4 thousand crown post offices now down to 5000 doing the same , probably also something to do with the horizon scandal

I’m not sure if this licensing thing makes a lot of sense. You are responsible to let the DVLA know if you have a medical condition that could affect your driving. That being the case, there shouldn’t be any need for a medical test, unless it was required for all classes of vehicle, not just over 3.5ton.
I’ve been watching a video of a couple who have bought a Unimog, I don’t know, maybe 5 tons
I said to Nic, I’ve been driving artics for most of my life. Now, because of a few birthdays, I’m not allowed to drive a 4 wheeler. I had to go through this rigmarole several times. Passed each one, no problem.

Best of luck Ken, although I doubt you would need it. You have the right amount of arms and legs, and apart from playing rugby, a brain.

The big problem at the minute is the DVLA's turnaround time. Mine came really quickly and so have others a couple of years ago, but two of our new drivers who sent off at end of November to get it added back on still haven't had them back. I could have carried on as it was a renewal but if it's been taken off and you apply to have it put back on you aren't allowed to drive the bigger vehicles till you get the bit of plastic back.
Causing us rota difficulties on our Community buses.
Hope yours comes quickly, Ken.
