I used to have a mini 0805 but it vanished, so have the later version 0806.

It seems work fine but I'm confused by how I should download and store the files created.

I have stills from.the first day I used it, and I downloaded all the videos yesterday to the laptop to a folder, and formatted the SD card, and today I did the same and yesterdays have vanished not a buggy but we were almost hit by a truck coming the other way around some roadworks long after our light had changed to go.

What am going wrong or should I be doing.

If you're still in France, your light at roadworks can't have changed to go; they change from STOP to Proceed With Caution. :)

Yes, you're right, it had one of those count down timers, had 2 minutes when we pulled up, it was down to about 45 seconds and the last car had come through so we were ready to go, I didnt even move until the count down ended, I had set off when this prat came flying through, so I must assume he'd ignored the red on his side.

Im not sure about windows but in linux you must tag with a name and also the folder or the next time you read the sd card the downloads will be over writen

If you downloaded them to a folder, they should be there. If the folder looks empty, try changing the file type if you have the option in the main window. Clipboard01.png

I have not got or used a dashcam

I don’t really need one when the wife says things like
Wow that was close
Or
Mind that car.
Or
Turn here turn there mind this. Did you see that .. a talking dash cam .
However turn the wrong way and for some reason she says a I never said that .
So of more benefit to me would be a voice recorder instead ..

Download the files yes, but I would not bother reformatting the memory card or even delete the files. If the card is full, the oldest files will get automatically overwritten.

I have to tag with name.title under linux, when the card is in the pc i clear it, no requirment to reformat.
By the way new rulls state dash cams must now not be powered by a usb cable, they must be fixed/hard wired.
This came up on my mobile a few days back as dvla warning, £2000 fine if caught.

Why not just download to 'videos'? I do that when I have an incident worth sending in to ukdashcamera.co.uk. The clips retain their original dashcam number (which is basically the date and time). I have front and rear cameras which I edit and save. The edited version automatically saves to 'videos' with a different number which is basically the date of the editing.

Try looking in file explorer. In videos, downloads or OneDrive.

A decent dashcam will have the option of recording internal audio.
