Just thought it might be of interest to some, the price of Diesel in the canary islands ar the moment is 80p a litre, if you want somewhere cheap to stay for long periods and in the sun then its ideal.

I know the islands are luke marmite to some people, but you cant fault the cheap cost of living.

We just came back from 3 months there and loved every minute of it

Filled up yesterday in Spain €1.24 still a fair bit cheaper than rip off Britain.

Did you take the van over to Tenerife it would be interesting to know the ferry costs and places you stayed. Would make a great winter escape for 3 months.

That was good, when we drove through the cheapest I could find was 1.40.

We took our motorhome which is 7.5m long and 2.34m wide and its better driving over there than in the uk, bigger roads and more space.

Parkups are anhwhere you want to stay basically and the police dont care how long your there.

park4nightbis usefull for there but there are way more places that arent on there.

We did Cadiz to Lanzarote ferry (Armas)
Lanzarote to Fuerteventura (fred olsen)
Fuerteventura to Gran Canaria (Fred olsen)

Then back again

Our plan was a month on each island but the weather kept us in Lanzarote for more of the time and we prefer the calmer quieter life.
Definitely a good winter option, we will be going again end of September again.

The ferry from spain to lanzarote was around €1300 euros but that's with a pet friendly cabin.

The ferrys between islands are about €150

Huge variations in prices in Spain. Never checked if it was regional

Hi Mandy, was the €1300 ferry fare return or one way please?

You can during the summer use fred ilsen from Huelva to Lanzarote but i think its a similar price

Also we had a dog friendly cabin so if you wanted pullman seats it would be about €800 cheaper
