Drive It Day

It's Drive It day on Sunday, so if out and about there's a good chance of seeing some nice old cars being used.

We were in a pub in Ashford on the water near Chatsworth last Sunday when a load of Austin 7's turned up.

I got chatting to one of the owners who very proudly showed me over the car. He also took great pleasure in pointing out that it had been going for 90 years and the gleaming BMW he had parked next to probably wouldn't be!

We usually organise a run with the Scottish section of the Citroen Car Club and 2cv Ecosse, but this year the Citroens are joining Stirling and District Car club on their run to New Lanark.
From last year

Just like 95% of the Austin 7s built that ended up as scrap and that was without governments legislating them off the road like they do now with perfectly good vehicles. Exactly the same was said about Jap crap bikes. Hopefully there will always be survivors.
