Ellendale for sale: 07 AutoTrail Miami SE

Hello all,

Following the recent sad passing of my father (Doug, AKA Ellendale), and the fact that my mother (Di) doesn't drive and my wife can't use their Miami, it's going up for sale.

Hopefully a few of you know of the rig so you'll know who might like it at the right price, and someone might also know what the right price is - as so far we've seen wildly varying valuations. What we'd like to get for it is at the top end of those (as you would expect) and around the £25k mark but here's a few details to test the waters with:

2007 AutoTrail Miami SE (Renault Master base, 2.5 diesel automatic), 25k miles
4 berth with fixed double bed, 4 traveling seats and belts
Maintained, serviced and repaired at Salop Leisure since purchase in 2010, including recent vehicle and leisure batteries
Includes all the accessories needed to go straight out on your first trip
GVW 3800kg so needs C/C1 license

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread if anyone wants more info.

It's sad to hear about your dad, I always remember him, as he was afraid of getting stuck and the only time he did was about 3 yards onto the field, when he was being so careful not too.
What a lovely friendly man he was.

Hi Simon, very sorry to hear of your loss. Condolencies to all the family.
What you have there is the Miami SE 740 D, with exceptionally low mileage.
I don’t think you are too far out with your valuation, although you would struggle to persuade a dealer to give you that sort of money without a trade in. Your best bet is to continue to try and sell it privately and beware of the old trick to get the price down, less scrupulous buyers will pretend they have found damp around the kitchen area and try to convince you that it will cost ‘thousands to repair’. They are simply trying to con you. It may be a good idea to buy a cheap damp meter and check the interior for yourself. That way, you’ll know if they are trying it on!
While you are waiting for a potential buyer, open all the cupboards and doors, so that the van becomes one big space with no unventilated places where damp May start to form.

Sorry to hear about your Dad.

Have you considered selling through Motorhome Depot? I and others on here have done so and it takes a lot of stress out of the procedure. They come to you, evaluate the motorhome, set a price and sell it on your behalf. They take a commission for doing so but are normally very fair and above board.
