Email Host Recomendations?

I've finally made up my mind to leave BT after yet another BTYahoo mail problem. I'm also paying a premium rate for an inferior service. I think I might try and switch ISPs each year and take advantage of the joining discounts since nobody rewards loyalty. Rather than use Microsoft or Google, neither of whom I trust, for the majority of my emails I was thinking of registering a domain name and having my own email addresses for the familly, which could be directed to whichever ISP I was with at the time.

Could anyone recommend a hosting service which could provide this service for a reasonable cost?

I bought my own domain with mail services many years ago from 1and1.co.uk... prices have gone up since I got mine but they're still pretty reasonable.
They've got a special offer at the moment of 99p for the first year that includes 1 email address but after that a .co.uk domain is £9;99 a year and .com is £12.99. I pay yearly for 2 domains and webmail with 3 mailboxes but I think it's still so cheap for me because I'm on an old contract and have never needed to upgrade. Worth checking out though because it's all been trouble-free and flawless.

Someone once told me to think very carefully about what domain name I wanted before putting it into any hosting search box because, if there's interest in a name, the price goes up! I'm not sure that's true with the pricing structure already set on most hosting sites but I pass it on for what it's worth. Good luck with it all.
