Spent the night on the sea front at Banff.
The harbour area is full of construction equipment but plenty of room along the coast. Nature at work with the stones.

Next morning off to Aberdeen. Fine old city with plenty of history and architecture. Stumbled on a little gem onthe end of the harbour. Footdee village.

Cheers Jeff,
Great fish and chips from The Bay in Stonehaven plus a masterclass in fishing from a school of dolphins in the bay.
A couple of kayaks have gone out and the dolphins are enjoying entertaining them.
Thought about chasing them with the drone but decided it might not return if the wind starts blowing a hooley.

lee & i are on the harbour at stonehaven lovely spot saw the sculptures booked into the ship for a meal at 7 back of the same boat in both picturesView attachment 60020View attachment 60021

The Ship is a popular eatery for us as we’re only about 20 minutes away over the Slug road near Banchory, and what a great evening you have for it (unless the dreaded haar has hit the coast). Enjoy your meal.
Sggestions for tomorrow if you have the time - full fry up at Molly‘s (north end of the boardwalk towards the caravan site) or coffee and almond croissant or “pain choc” from the Old Pier coffee shop (you will have walked/staggered past it tonight on the way to and from the Ship).
The Seafood Bothy on the harbour pier is excellent for lunch but it‘s only open Fri to Sun unfortunately for you.
Whatever you do - enjoy

Tony

Thank you Les,
Shirl’s been round to see if they have a crazy golf course here but it seems not.
Just had an hour cleaning plastic off St Andrews beach. Very clean compared with others we encounter. Moving on for lunch at Crail, which was recommended by an 82 year old fisherman we chatted with on the harbour at St Andrews.
Looking forward to meeting up with you again in the New Forest.

Crail is beautiful but not very friendly for the larger motorhomes. As usual no phone signal but surprisingly an extremely fast BT WiFi signal picked up.

More of a dry dock than a harbour when the tide is out.

Pleasant afternoon in the sun lazing about.
Everywhere seems to smell of fish???

We had a brilliant encounter today in Crail which highlights the fishing community strength in Scotland.
We were chatting with a 92 years old fisherman on the cliffs at Crail, telling him an 82 years old fisherman in St Andrews (10 mls away) had recommended Crail as a good place to see.
“What was his name?” said the 92yr old.
“Don’t know” we replied “but the boat he pointed out was call Louisa”.
“Och aye that’ll be Tom”
We were really surprised coming from a big city south of the border. The chances of either of us knowing someone in the same trade 10 miles away would be zero.
So after 30 minutes of absolute gold dust in local history and fishermans tales we had to bid goodbye and move onward to West Wemyss for the night.
What a day to remember.
