Yes, it's not all bad news, is it?
If I use my Halifax Clarity card, at the local ATM, I can now pull the £500 daily max of 600€.
Shopping is cheaper, too.
If we're really desperate, we've a Barclay Advantage and a Nationwide Platinum, too.
Bad news, is ,since we're not motorhoming, the taxman is on our tail.
Even Paradise has its Downside.
Just a warning to new visitors to Portugal..
The ATM system has a nasty little scam, built in.
You put your card in, select withdrawal....
Put in the sum you want to take... then it asks you if you want to accept the guaranteed exchange rate.. shows a patriotic Union Flag..... This is a 10% ish mark up.
Press the Do not accept button and it asks you again...
Do not accept it..
.
How many tipsy/ stoned holiday makers, fall for that in the airport or resorts, ?
