Fluke tester warning

I came across a fluke once... although it might have just been a coincidence...

Boom tish....

Thanks. I was looking for a polarity tester and now know to stay clear of that model.

Turns out that the 'fault' is an intrinsic feature of this type of tester. If the earth's floating, the tester increases the earth potential to the point you can get a (non-fatal) tingle from any metal component of the outlet housing being tested. I reckon that if you plug in the tester, switch on, check the LEDs without touching the tester or the housing, switch off and then remove the tester, you should be OK.
