On a different note was around the Nantes area last October and found I couldn't connect to the water point. They looked like the standard and hoselock push connection but we're female requiring a male on the hose. This filling point was new.Is this going to be standard french connection.Hi everyone, planning a trip to France in June and was wondering if you can help with a ?
Do the Fench aires payment machines accept credit card payments or is it cash.
Many thanks for repliesmj
First came across these several years ago this is what you needOn a different note was around the Nantes area last October and found I couldn't connect to the water point. Thanks for that will order.did couple something together as I had a few hoselock connection on board but will order to add to the growing gas connections and water connectionsFirst came across these several years ago this is what you need
Better if it includes a tap though
Yes just used one of these , quite surprisedProbably the only service points in aires that need a credit card to work are Flot Bleu. We try not to use them as the services are behind a locked door and the water hose ( usually with a petrol pump style trigger) us only a few inches above where you empty your cassette. Not very hygienic!
Apart from Campingcarparks aires, which have their own payment system and pass cards, if the aire you are going to has a barrier with payment, it will accept a foreign credit or debit card.
It might be. Locals might jump at the chance of free water. I've seen someone turn up at an aire with a trailer full of jerrycans and fill them at the service point.Credit/Debit Cards for Aire services? For something that will take, maybe e20 on a good day? Installing that wouldn't be cost effective.
I've come across those in a few places, particularly, but not exclusively, on canals. The thing to watch when using a double-male adaptor on the end of your hose, is not to leave the adaptor in the water point because, if you do, a jet of water continues to erupt from the borne. On a different note was around the Nantes area last October and found I couldn't connect to the water point. Forgot to say,at some aires, such as marinas, you will have to pay at the office. Most are free.
Some take cards
Some take cash in machine
Some are honesty boxes.
Some have someone collect the money
At some aires, go to the town hall to pay.Forgot to say,at some aires, such as marinas, you will have to pay at the office.
If the aire is free, but a charge for water then payment is either by card or you will have to buy a jeton(token) from a local shop.
Expect anything!!!!
