Gas fire

I was talking to another OP yesterday about this freezing weather. He told me he keeps his gas fire on low in his motorhome to keep it warm throughout the winter months. He said he’s been doing this for 10 years without any problems. My question is, is this safe???

For myself, if I was in the van, I would feel perfectly safe.

However, whenever I leave the van I turn everything off. Everything.

But that's me, as I'm a worrier by nature.

We are all quite happy to leave a gas fridge running ! and go for a walk or sleep
The fridge uses a fire !
So why not ?
If it is very cold we leave our gas heating on low (very low) and sleep !

Marlene is very nervous about gas and there is no way she would let me leave the heating on overnight. We do leave the fridge on but it took a lot of persuasion and she's not happy about it.

In fact, having just repaired the heater I'm now toying with replacing it with a diesel heater.
