Home at last!
I got back last night after a long journey and the driver delivered my van right into my parking bay at the storage facility. I was amazed at the driver's skill!. He slowly negotiated the entrance to the storage site from the narrow lane then worked his way around the site having to position the rig by going backwards and forwards many times at each obstacle to miss gate posts and other vehicles. It took more than two hours from entering the site to leaving. The photo of the truck here does not do it justice when we parked at the services the total length is a lot longer than a normal lorry, a have added a photo from their website so you can see.

Awesome driver!

Sorry to hear you broke down sounds like you know what he problem is and it’s fixable without going back to a fiat dealer . These guys who drive these breakdown transporters are good suppose they get plenty practice with the modern vehicles and the limp mode syndrome for the stupidest thing.

Unfortunately it’s a none serviceable item and these things rarely give any notice prior to failure .Hope you get it rectified quickly and easily

Glad you got back safely. You really should stop having these kind of adventures Phil.

At least it isn't an expensive or difficult part to replace, it could have been a lot worse

It could have been mine

Sorry to see you have had a breakdown Phil, I hope it turns out to be a simple fix. I know from experience that getting recovered is a pain in the proverbial, but looking on the positive side you are safe and sound.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Phil.
Hope the cure is cheap & swift.

I'd be a bit worried about the spacing between the vans!

Phill

Hope you get it fixed soon Phil. If it’s any consolation my brother Rab left from The Frog for London on Sunday to attend a funeral and got as far as Knutsford where his differential packed up. His Sprinter arrived at my workshop on the back of a transporter on Monday and at this moment in time he is on his way back up from down south somewhere with a complete back axle in the back of his Passat estate. Hopefully we will get it fitted next week and he will be back on the road again!!
