On a couple of hymers, I put in extra trap doors to gain easier access to dump valves etc. On. French bed van, I made an internal door to enable the geny to go under the bed as the out side locker door was not high enough. Modified the pull out scooter rack to use Armatage style fastening over seat clamp.
Fitted extra shelves in cupboards
On a van similar to yours, I made a extra work top to sit firmly across the two bunks
Incidentally, is your van not a 572 or 578 ? you put 527 by miss keying

Just thinking of your van and wardrobe.
Our 562 had a jump seat there with storage under. It was good for putting tins in and getting weight forward.
Maybe cut the top of the wardrobe but keep lower for storage as even though you have a large garage, you don’t want all the heavy stuff at the back
I am sure as a truckie you know what I mean

Yeah gonna remove the whole thing and store so it can be put back to original condition if required
Going to build a lidded box which will carry the bed extension if g kids come away with us

😂😂 Well I was waiting on that 🤕.Its kinda like the the Range Rover and the Morris marina scenario both of them having the same switches and door handles Dethleffs let hymer use the odd bit from there 1970s models. I’m off now before I upset phil with his beige hymer 🤭

When someone tried to break into our 2002 Hymer they damaged the habitation door lock, Brownhills wanted over £150 for a Hymer lock, being ex trade I knew I had seen similar locks before so trawled the internet looking for something similar, found it was a first generation Fiat Punto lock which was built until 1999, got one from the scrapyard and fitted my barrel, cost about £5

I don’t think any are as robust as they used to be, due to customers, owners wanting more and more goodies
Goodies equal weight, therefore lighter weaker materials have to be used
However, I do consider Hymer to be very usable off grid
Good showers and bodies that are generally waterproof
Certainly not the RR of Motorhome but also not Lemons as some seem to be
