Currently have 2 Granddaughters staying with me; one is moving to Cornwall today. I am currently making sure none of my clothes go with her!
Is it a female thing to pinch your mothers or in this case Grandmothers gear? Or do sons do it to Dads? Years ago we wouldn't have wanted the older generations 'stuff' but with intergenerational clothes that seems to have changed. My biggest risks seem to be hoodies, jumpers and trainers I'm not going to see a size 8 again 🤣so joggers are safe.

I have to watch my tools rather than my clothes with my son

AS long as they leave the underwear we shall all be safe.

My clothes certainly wouldn't fit either son or daughter, and my tools would be no good to my son, he's useless with tools.

Grew up in a house where the first one up was the best dressed and I had three sisters😉. I now have three daughters and my hoodies seem to be the one thing they borrow and never return.

Young folk here buy new rags at the wekend, wear them once and ditch them, my sister done this from about 16 on, excuse is i would not be seen dead in the same clothes twice.
Have you ever noticed charity shops are full of ladies clothes but seldom mens.

That’s because they know where to find your slush fund 😳👍

My lad wouldn't be seen dead in the stuff (Cotton Traders T shirts and Mountain Warehouse shorts, in the main) I wear so I'm OK. :)

When they were teens, my son used to pinch my socks. Daughter used to pinch my socks and knickers. I guess my bras were too big for her. However, my outer garments were shunned.

Nowadays it's more usual for daughter to give me her cast off jeans, sweatshirts etc. Except - a couple of weeks ago she borrowed my Pink Floyd hoodie because granddaughter had spilled something on hers whilst they were here, and she was going straight to work. I duly washed her hoodie but she said she'd prefer to keep mine so son claimed hers. He also claimed my Beatles hoodie a while back.

I expect all my Cropredy festival and geocaching T shirts are safe, though.

yep. my grandaughter would often go thru wardrobe and take s liking to my things
then she started bringing her friend around.....i still had some clothes from the seventies ...she took a liking

When she lived with me, my daughter used to pinch and often loose my jewelry. I marched her down to her bank account to withdraw the money to pay for a keypad lock on my bedroom door. That put paid to that!

Now, I'm the beneficiary. I get her cast off clothes as they are too small for her! Bonus, that they're often good brands that I wouldn't be able you afford.
