Its my idea of Hell. The sign sayes 30 vans for no more than 2 days and to register with town hall. Regularly 100+ vans there. Some staying weeks and nobody registered with town hall. Good to empty and fill outwith market days. There is a barrier which you should park behind. If you are on the wrong side of the barrier the police often throw everyone off.

This week is holiday week and we was told you dont have to register until next Monday but yes if the vans go in front of the barrier , they will get moved on , the local police are strict and come round often

Few bother to register seems to make no difference police not bothered, chairs and tables out everywhere too, just been to Fuengirola on the bus for a giant car boot 1.55 E each way bus every 1/2 hour good day out boot sale huge, meal etc 22 degs today. Lot of vans on the Fueng market site really jammed in also busy at the Fueng Castle, we also saw a lot of vans parked at the Mosque in the town where apparently one is welcome to stay.

No secrets allowed on here, we want the gps pronto hee hee,

Heard today that there is a new squat at Torremolinas Eastern end of the Costa supposed to be a lot of vans there so we are heading that way when we finally leave Mijas next week.

We stayed there ,police came gave out warnings, anyone without a ticket from town hall would have to go or get a fine, police came back at 6 pm and booted about 150 vans off.

As anyone registered, how do you go about doing this?

Just cal in to the town hall next to the police station where. the brass Donkey is, need your passport and vehicle documents BUT I have yet to find someone who has done this. We left there today after 5 nights great stopover, we are now at Torrimolinos on a POI which is good have just met friends who are parked up about 500metres from us on the beach, about 40 vans there they said, Parrots all over the place here noisy and tame too

Thanks Trigger for such a detailed reply, can you still park behind the barriers on Market days or do they clear you all off.

Yes still park there Market days in fact we drove in Wednesday last when the market was active found a good spot backing on to the golf course fence. Market weds and Sat's, you cannot get water or empty cassette till market finished however but not a problem with that.

Ok thanks we leave the campsite we are on at area Málaga beach on Wednesday, so thinking of heading there for Wednesday evening, we will have emptied and refilled here before leaving, so should be good for a few days.

Wish we had read this before Sunday night, place was rammed so parked in front of barrier with a couple of others. Police arrived at 8.00 and told us to move behind barrier or go. They then got a few Van's moved up and made room for us. Told us to get registered on Monday morning but we were leaving anyway.

I would say that was very kind of the police to get the others to make room for you, rather than move you on altogether. The problem seems to be people take the Mickey and camp for weeks rather than a few nights and then move on giving other people the chance to find a place.
