Thinking of changing the old tubes in my interior lights to LED using a roll of diodes and cutting to length. Best source of reliable LED's and do two strips give a similar output to twin tubes? Been looking on amazon and fleabay but there seem to be so many specs and choices I had to give in and have a glass of wine. Any help reducing my alcohol consumption with some first hand experience would be gratefully received.

Have a look at Aten lighting.

They are generally not cheap if any good. The ones I fitted to Murky are excellent and better than the tubes in every way. These were 24 volt though.

Dont bother with cutting little strips, lots of small ready built proper lamps out there, go for soft white.
Just cut the clips of and connect up, there a few bucks each.
